It's FO MANIA!
In three days, I've finished three things, and that may be a record for yours truly. In fact, it is a record. Let's celebrate with champagne and pictures.
Mark's scarf was finished on Monday night, just in time for his trip to Alaska. The poor boy's never had a scarf before! Can you imagine? I knitted lots of love and happy thoughts into it, so I hope it serves him well. It only took a skein and a half of Lamb's Pride, far below my estimation of three and even farther below his "Oh, let's get four just in case you run out." Someone's getting a hat or two!
My friend Heather sent me a few mix CDs in the mail. I promised her something knitted in return, so she gets these. It takes about three hours to make each one, maybe less if you're not easily distracted like I am. I modified the Glampyre's pattern from Knitty (postmodern legwarmers), and used the yummy, tasty Merino Frappe.
My aunt will have this scarf bestowed upon her come Yuletide. I started it last night and finished just a little while ago. It went deliciously quick! I used about a skein and a half of the Berroco Optik I posted a picture of below. I did a little drop-stitching (which is damn fun) between alternating sets of 8 and 4 humps of garter stitch. It's very ethnic-looking, je pense. I betcha it'd cost $90 at Pier One!
Speaking of Merino Frappe... I bought enough to make a sweater. It was destined, actually - I thought they only had five more balls, yet another was hiding below its brothers and sisters. I was doubly bad and bought additional yarn, as well - Plymouth Le Fibre Nobili Papillon in color 452. Blues and reds and purples with SPARKLES! - wheeeee! It shall be a scarf for my OTHER aunt. It shouldn't take me long, as it's big, fat yarn.
It sure feels good to accomplish something other than make my pocketbook a bit lighter.
