Not much knitting, but lots of new yarn!

I know, I know. I wasn't supposed to buy yarn. However, the most expensive yarn below was paid for two months ago, the green scarf was yarn I didn't pay for, the orange/red stripy scarf is stash yarn (can you believe it?!), and the other stuff that I got today was under $40 because with another full Needlwork Unlimited punch card. So, there. It's not so bad.

Do knitters learn this sort of rationalization or is it inborn?

First of all... a large amount of Colinette that I got today from o'er the sea. It's an Absolutely Fabulous kit from eBay, colorway "Cornucopia".

You have my permission to be jealous.

Next, a scarf I'm making for my friend Mark. He's going to Alaska on Tuesday and needs it by then. It's tremendously easy and fast and if I can get myself to sit still for a few minutes, I'll have it done in no time. I'm using Brown Sheep's Lamb's Pride in "Christmas Green". I'm making up the pattern as I go along and am a bit over halfway done.

This little beauty I knit up in 2 hours a couple of Saturdays ago. Two balls of Gedifra Mambo, size 13 needles, 7 stitches across. It's stretching a little, but it's still wonderful.

Sometimes I like to take naps with it on.

Here's the yarn I nabbed today. I found some Merino Frappe that I've been dying to try for $1.25 off a ball, so I grabbed some to make a pair of legwarmers for a friend. You can't really tell, but it's a very interesting red-and-purple combination. It glows! Next in line is some Lana Grossa Inserto. Needlework Unlimited had this great wrap on display made with three balls of this. It's done in brioche stitch and has a tiny bit of fringe around three edges. It's so cozy and was pretty cheap, only $8 a ball. It'll be a nice, fast thing for me to knit when I need instant gratification. Finally, Berroco Optik in "Rembrant Mix". I'll be making a scarf for my aunt for Yule with this. It's very interesting yarn!

I want to hug them and love them and name them George.

And tonight we knit! I have a deadline!
