Ohhh... I hope Interweave Knits gets my subscription payment and sends me the winter issue ASAP. I need to get my hands on this!
That's Annie Modesitt's Morris Fern, which blew me away the moment I saw a swatch months ago. It will be the first offering on the special subscribers-only section of the IK website. I've heard that that area is really spectacular, so maybe y'all should get a subscription and check it out! If you look closely, you can find subscription cards for $20 for a year instead of $24. Very worth it.
Ms. Modesitt is one of my favorite designers. Everything she does blows me away because it's just so different. Anything that combines interesting construction with items that actually look good and fabulous colors has my heart.
Alas, I have an FO to share!
This is four balls of Lana Grossa Inserto knit on 11's in brioche stitch. It was SO fast and satisfying to knit and is nice and warm. It's my very first project utilizing fringe; can you believe that? I'm in love with the stitch pattern and I might marry it.
I would also like to share something else I started yesterday:
I picked up a skein of Koigu Kersti and a ball of Rowan Kidsilk Haze. I'm knitting them together in... you guessed it!... brioche stitch on size 8's. The Kidsilk Haze is incredible; it's turning merino wool into angora. *drool*
Also last night, I started The Project That Shall Not Be Named. Oh, tis glorious! I can't wait to be finished so I can share the finished result. It's a gift, though, so it needs to be kept under wraps.
Today I knit in the car while waiting at stop lights. Why didn't I think of this before?
