You know, people, it's not true when they say there are no stupid questions. If anyone wants proof, they can read the Livejournal Knitting Community.
Now, I understand being new at something. I understand having some confusion. But there's being new, being confused, and entirely lacking problem-solving skills and common sense.
I've made silly mistakes and wasn't able to think through things right away. But somehow, in the middle of composing an email or post, the answer would come to me. A little thinking goes a long way. But, lordy, I NEVER asked, "What's stockinette stitch?" (I mean, if you really didn't know, couldn't you consult Google or the most elementary knitting book available?) or "Why do you weave in ends?"
Use your brains, kids. You're not going to get much farther than garter stitch without 'em.

In better news, I successfully taught my wee (she's just 20! A baby!) step-sis how to knit. She picked it up almost immediately. A natural! We picked out some Noro Kureyon for her first scarf, as well as some Gedifra something-or-other for a fancier second scarf.
It was great to be back to Tuesday's Knitting Night, though I had to slip out early due to tiredness (of course, when I got home, the coffee finally kicked in...). This week we had a total of five, our biggest turnout yet!
Not much actual knitting going on here. Tonight I picked up the Dineh Blanket Vest for the first time in a couple of months and stuck on a couple more inches; I feel like I've gotten tremendously speedier since I worked on it last. I've gotta get cracking, cause Christmas is almost here!
