Daily fiber therapy - the confessions of a knitting geek.
Monday, May 24, 2004

Thanks to my ex-mother-in-law, I will soon have a digital camera, and my blog will once again enter the realms of the moderately interesting.

Charlotte's Web is DONE. It looks gorgeous, and even more gorgeous because I decided not to put on the fringe. Fringe, I think, usually looks hokey. The crocheted edging of this shawl is so web-like and delicate and decorative, I think it's a better finish than a bunch of pieces of yarn. My darling boyfriend helped me decide to forgo it, and thankfully I had only cut up one color's worth of fringe. Now I have some extra Koigu to play with - probably enough for a pair of socks.

I picked up the Colorwork Hat again; it's going more quickly than before. It's funny how much you can improve, almost imperceptively.

I will be going down to Phoenix at the end of this week, for unfortunate reasons. My new daddy (our affectionate term for our step-dad) passed away two weeks ago. My sister and I are going down to Arizona to spend some time with my mom. While I'm down there, I'll try to resist going to every yarn store in the area like I did last time.
